BJMP Hiring Jail Officers for 2022 Quota

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) is an attached agency of the Department of the Interior and Local Government mandated to direct, supervise and control the administration and operation of all district, city and municipal jails in the Philippines with pronged tasks of safekeeping and development of its inmates, officially classed as persons deprived of liberty (PDL).

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) is now accepting applicants for Jail Officer 1.

Qualifications

  • A citizen of the Republic of the Philippines;
  • A person of good moral character;
  • Must have passed the psychiatric/psychological, drug and physical tests for the purpose of determining his/her physical and mental health;
  • Must possess a baccalaureate degree from a recognized institution of learning;
  • Must possess appropriate eligibility (Second Level eligibilities: CSE-Professional, RA 1080, and Penology Officer Examination, etc);
  • Must not have been dishonorably discharged or dismissed for cause from previous employment;
  • Must not be less than twenty-one (21) nor more than thirty (30) years of age. Provided, that a waiver for age requirement shall be automatically granted to applicants belonging to the cultural communities;
  • Must not have been convicted by final judgment of an offense or crime involving moral turpitude;
  • Must be at least 5 feet and 2 Inches for male and 5 feet for female in height; and
  • Must weigh not more or less than five kilograms (5 kgs.) from the standard weight corresponding to his/her height, age and sex.

Monthly Salary

According to the Modified Base Pay Schedule of Military and Uniformed Personnel (MUP), the Basic Monthly Salary for Jail Officer 1 is P29,668 (Salary Grade 10) or Gross Monthly Salary of P37,448, which has been implemented since January 1, 2019. The Hazard Pay of all MUP shall be fixed at five hundred forty pesos (P540) per month.
