The Tariff Commission (TC) is a government agency of the Republic of the Philippines. Tariff Commission is an attached agency of the National Economic and Development Authority.
Its mandate and functions are prescribed under Republic Act (RA) No. 10863, otherwise known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA). RA No. 10863 was signed by President Benigno S. Aquino III on 30 May 2016 and took effect on 16 June 2016.
Tariff Commission performs both governmental and quasi-judicial functions. Under the CMTA, which updated and expanded TC’s prescribed mandate under Presidential Decree No. 1464 (s. 1978), also known as the Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines.
