Valenzuela Medical Center, initially known as Valenzuela Emergency Hospital, was established through a local council in 1979 as a 25-bed secondary hospital under LGU supervision and funding.
The hospital was originally housed in a renovated municipal hall in Polo, Valenzuela. In 1983 the operation of the hospital was transferred to the Department of Health – Region 3 and It was nationalized on January 1985 directly under Region III through PD 811 and it was later renamed as Valenzuela District Hospital.
