    SAF Training Process

    1. Joining the PNP:
      • Candidates start by joining the Philippine National Police (PNP) as a Patrolman or Patrolwoman.
    2. Public Safety Basic Training:
      • After taking their oath, recruits complete a six-month Public Safety Basic Recruit Course at the Regional Training School.
      • They then go through another six months of Field Training (or On-the-Job Training) at local police stations in their assigned area.
    3. SAF Commando Course:
      • Candidates take the SAF Commando Course or similar courses like the Scout Ranger or Special Forces Operations Course.
      • This challenging course prepares them for SAF duties with training in:
        • Security operations
        • Water rescues
        • Police response tactics
        • Community (barangay) work
        • Field exercises
      • After finishing, they earn the SAF Beret.
    4. Specialized Training:
      • Once they have the SAF Beret, officers can take extra training to specialize in:

    Marine Basic Course (MBC):

    1. Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen.

    5. Must pass the AFP Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) for commission.
    6. Must be cleared by N2 (security clearance).
